Really like the idea of the citizen assembly.
Come together and get a shared experience of knowledge from experts who are chosen by a selected group of people from varying backgrounds.
Think this helps reduce the issue of people not having a shared experience when it comes to knowledge and just ell each other they are wrong.
Then discussing these ideas in small groups and with panels.
Frankly I'd love to go to these in my area. How do you find these sort of events?
I think they are ran very sporadically. I'd sign up for newsletters from deliberative democracy nonprofits like democracy next and Phil's center at the Hannah Arendt Center! There's not enough of these happening unfortunately....Yet!
